Buddhist Art

The Buddhist Art collection brings together original works and faithful reproductions inspired by the rich visual traditions of Buddhism across Asia. Rooted in centuries of artistic heritage, these pieces draw from cave murals, sacred texts, traditional iconography, and enduring spiritual themes.

Featured throughout the collection are works inspired by some of the most celebrated Buddhist sites along the Silk Road, including the Mogao Caves of Dunhuang, the Bezeklik and Yulin Caves, and Fahai Temple in Beijing. Among them are meticulously crafted mural reproductions created as part of international conservation and cultural preservation initiatives, to which the artist was invited to contribute. Using traditional techniques, including mineral pigments and carefully prepared surfaces that replicate the texture and character of the original mural grounds, these works seek to preserve not only the imagery but also the material qualities of the historic paintings.

Alongside these historical influences are contemporary interpretations that reimagine timeless subjects through a modern artistic lens. Together, the works create a conversation between past and present—preserving tradition while inviting new perspectives on Buddhist art and culture.
