Olivia Pang FRSA
Artist
Background
Also known as XIA Yu. Olivia Pang has deep roots in traditional Chinese painting, specialising in the Gongbi style—renowned for its meticulous brushwork and precision. Her practice reflects a respect for classical technique, while also embracing new perspectives through portraiture and landscape painting.
Olivia's work has been exhibited internationally, including the Mall Galleries in London as part of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters' annual exhibitions, the Kaiser Gallery in Germany, and the National Art Museum of China. Most recently, in 2025, she held her first solo exhibition at London Fo Guang Shan Temple, presenting a series of Buddhist artworks—many of which are faithful reproductions of ancient mural paintings found in caves along the historic Silk Road.
Granted the Global Talent visa in 2024, Olivia is now based in South Yorkshire, where she continues to explore the intersections of tradition and innovation in her work.
